Knowledge is Wealth: Selling information nets big money.

Selling products or services isn't the only way to make money online. What you know can earn you a nice income. People are always looking for information to help with a problem, to educate them, or to entertain them. There is big money in information products on the Internet. The potential for huge profits are great because you have low startup costs and no inventory.

The most common information product is an eBook. An eBook is simply information in an electronic rather than paper format. Other information products include:

streaming video viewed on a web page
audio files on tape or CD
pod casts
access to web pages where info is stored
printed books, CDs, DVDs sent to buyers.

Computer + Topic = Information Product

Big money in information products happens because the process is very easy to create. Choose an interesting topic, put fingers to keyboard and in a little while you've created an info product. If the topic is really hot, you may start earning income hours later. Internet technology provides 24/7 sales and delivery of product. Automate your site so you can sell the product, process the payment, deliver the item via email, and follow up with the buyer later to check on customer satisfaction (and sell more stuff!).

What makes a good information product?

Practically any subject can net big money in information products. How to start a business, self-improvement techniques, career advice - if you can think of a topic, there are probably people willing to buy the information product you put together.

Use your interests and expertise for subject ideas. Search online forums to locate people who might be interested in your information product. Offer to send them a free copy of your info product. This will spark sales and lead to referrals for you.

No writing experience needed.

You don't have to be Pulitzer Prize material to create information products. There are millions of works in the public domain that you can republish and sell. These include non written items such as art, photos, old films, and historical speeches. You can even hook up with a talented writer to help you create an information product and pay him a flat fee or percentage of the profits.

You could make a video of yourself or another person demonstrating a skill (cooking, crafts). Budding musicians can record their songs and sell them as an mp3 download. There's even a guy who records himself reading nursery rhymes and sells the CD to parents with small children.

Product Promotion

A lot of fledgling book authors and musicians sell their books and CDs from the back of their car trunk. For online information products, your web site is your car trunk. Create a site specifically for selling your information products. Participate in affiliate programs to increase site traffic and sales for your items.

  • Your very own website setup on your own domain!
  • 400 day pre-written ezine-in-a-box!
  • Resell rights to the hottest selling digital products online!
  • 5 streams of automated residual income!
  • Step-by-step marketing instructions to make quick cash!
  • 24-hour FREE installation of your new website!

What Is Surround Marketing?

Today, the online advertising world is still going strong, trying to find the best quality page views, and the NYT-coined phrase ‘surround session’ has become an established term. But the technique’s effectiveness is not anywhere beyond unquestionable doubt.

Marketingterms.com describes surround sessions as ‘advertising sequence[s] in which a visitor receives ads from one advertiser throughout an entire site visit’. The session model places emphasis on real interaction between advertisers and audiences. A quick search on Google news shows that the phrase is hardly in use in the online world. It appears that despite the NYT’s acclaimed success with the method, the online industry at large is adopting similar techniques, but in wildly varying versions.

The fact that the campaign is hardly still creating a buzz in the industry is both indicative of the confused state online advertising is in and of general doubts that the method is really all that more precise, according to professionals quoted in an article on e-consultancy.com. The marketers at this consultancy however did underscore that the technique somewhat provides in a need, because it communicated to them in old fashioned media buying terms. “Another appealing feature of the session model is that it better reflects offline media buying and measurement than the current CPM model. [...] talking about reach, frequency and pages, traditional marketers are working with a language they understand,” according to the article.

The New York Times is eager to capitalize on every bit of information its online readers give it in order to further its and advertisers’ brand names. It goes to such lengths that it is held back only by government imposed rules on cookie tracking, for the protection of privacy of the users.

10 Steps to Successful Exporting

Marketing Strategies for Successful International Marketing

Here are more of the key steps necessary to export your products or services successfully:

Devise marketing strategies for your target market.

International marketing is not the same as domestic marketing. Those who ignore this fact do so at their own peril. As successful as you may be at reaching your Canadian customers or clients, you must be aware that your international audience will frequently have different tastes, needs and customs. Good marketing strategies help the exporter understand and address these potential differences.

These strategies are captured in the international marketing plan, a flexible document that will likely be reviewed, revised and modified throughout your exporting activities. Marketing is a continuous activity and so is marketing planning because you can never know enough about your customers and how to meet their needs.

The basic marketing formula – the four “P’s” of product, price, promotion and place – is just the beginning when it comes to international marketing. Your plan will need to address many other factors, such as payment (international transactions and currency exchanges), paperwork (increased documentation), practices (different cultural, social and business styles), partnerships (strategic alliances to strengthen your market presence) and protection (increased risks relating to payment, intellectual property or travel) and many more. Understanding all these facets of international business will transform your marketing plan into marketing action.

Enter the market.

The research is complete and the export and marketing plans have been devised. You feel ready to enter the market and are seeking the best strategy to reach potential customers. There are as many market entry strategies as there are markets; however, these strategies can be loosely grouped into three categories. Direct exports, as the name implies, involve direct marketing and selling to the client. In a reasonably accessible market such as the United States, direct exporting of products or services may be a viable option. But in less familiar markets, with different legal and regulatory environments, business practices, customs and preferences, direct exporting may not be an option. A local partner, for example, may be better able to manage these complexities and serve your potential clients better.

Indirect exporting is frequently used to enter new markets. Businesses selling products enter into an agreement with an agent, distributor or a trading house for the purpose of selling (or marketing and selling) the products in the target market. Due diligence is critical when selecting an agent or distributor for indirect exporting. Western Economic Diversification Canada has published a valuable checklist on selecting a foreign agent or distributor in its publication Ready for Export: Building a Foundation for a Successful Export Program. An adaptation of this checklist is found in Team Canada Inc’s A Step-by-Step Guide to Exporting (see below for more information).

The third market entry strategy involves strategic partnerships with other companies or individuals with complementary skills and capabilities. A partner can often provide the insight, contacts and expertise that fills the gap in your export readiness. A strategic alliance with a company selling a complementary product or service can provide more effective market access, resulting in more foreign sales in less time. As with indirect exporting relationships, contractual agreements with partners must be stated in clear terms and, whenever possible, refer to Canadian laws for the protection of the Canadian company.

Continue on to the next page for steps six through ten of successful exporting.
Export Shipping, Financing & Regulations

Here are more of the key steps necessary to export your products or services successfully:

Get your product or service to market.

Every market has its own set of rules and regulations covering safety, health, security, packaging and labeling, customs and duties among other things. Additionally, these rules and regulations may vary depending on the product or service you are exporting. It is critical that you understand the rules and regulations that apply to you before you ship your goods or open your foreign business location. Product-based businesses with shipping requirements will benefit from developing a relationship with a freight forwarding company and a customs broker. Whether you are shipping by truck, rail, sea or air, the documentation will likely be extensive and potentially confusing.

The services provided by these businesses will assist you in determining the most efficient and least risky options for shipping your goods across borders.

Explore financing options.

While there are overnight export success stories, most companies must be prepared to invest both time and financial resources to see the return on their investment and the subsequent success. Consequently, financial stability and a secure cash flow are important during this period. In some cases, businesses can rely on their domestic sales to sustain their early export efforts. If this is not possible, it is a good idea to know what financing options are available. Exporters must develop a financial plan to understand and address the diverse costs associated with exporting, complete with a two- to three-year cash budget to cover expenses and a capital budget. A capital budget is a cost-benefit assessment of your export objectives and serves as your operating plan for measuring expenditures and revenues.

Understand the legal and regulatory issues.

Exporting exposes Canadian businesses to unfamiliar laws and regulations. There are numerous international conventions, treaties and national, regional and municipal rules that can affect your ability to operate successfully in foreign markets. Exporters may also encounter disputes with agents or distributors, clients or creditors. It is important to understand your rights and obligations when resolving disputes, selling goods or services and protecting intellectual property.

Put it into practice.

You have committed yourself to exporting. You have the skills and the resources to undertake the challenge. You have researched the market and prepared your export plan, international marketing plan and financial plan. Your market entry strategy is clear and the support system (i.e. freight forwarder, customs broker, financial lenders, legal advisors) is in place. You have gone through the export process step-by-step and feel confident that you have covered all the bases. Now, it is time to put all this skill and knowledge to use. The world is waiting for your product or service!

Let Team Canada Inc (TCI) help you along the way.

TCI is committed to helping businesses across the country thrive in global markets by offering comprehensive export information and services. These tools are designed to help both experienced exporters and potential exporters plan and implement their international business ventures from start to success.

Marketing vs. Advertising: What's the Difference?

You will often find that many people confuse marketing with advertising or vice versa. While both components are important they are very different. Knowing the difference and doing your market research can put your company on the path to substantial growth.

Let's start off by reviewing the formal definitions of each and then I'll go into the explanation of how marketing and advertising differ from one another:

Advertising: The paid, public, non-personal announcement of a persuasive message by an identified sponsor; the non-personal presentation or promotion by a firm of its products to its existing and potential customers.

Marketing: The systematic planning, implementation and control of a mix of business activities intended to bring together buyers and sellers for the mutually advantageous exchange or transfer of products.

After reading both of the definitions it is easy to understand how the difference can be confusing to the point that people think of them as one-in-the same, so lets break it down a bit.

Advertising is a single component of the marketing process.

It's the part that involves getting the word out concerning your business, product, or the services you are offering. It involves the process of developing strategies such as ad placement, frequency, etc. Advertising includes the placement of an ad in such mediums as newspapers, direct mail, billboards, television, radio, and of course the Internet. Advertising is the largest expense of most marketing plans, with public relations following in a close second and market research not falling far behind.

The best way to distinguish between advertising and marketing is to think of marketing as a pie, inside that pie you have slices ofadvertising, market research, media planning, public relations, product pricing, distribution, customer support, sales strategy, and community involvement. Advertising only equals one piece of the pie in the strategy. All of these elements must not only work independently but they also must work together towards the bigger goal. Marketing is a process that takes time and can involve hours of research for a marketing plan to be effective. Think of marketing as everything that an organizationdoes to facilitate an exchange between company and consumer.

Marketing and Advertising Designs

Ask most small business owners the best way to improve sales of their products or services, and you will probably hear a wide range of responses: "Reduce the prices," "Increase your advertising," "Improve service" and so on. One unlikely reply, however, would be: "Conduct some marketing research." While marketing research has been a driving force in large companies for years, small businesses have been reluctant to use it. Marketing research can be the key to future success for many small businesses if the buyer or user of the research understands its parameters, strengths and limitations. Failure to conduct and use marketing research correctly result in catastrophe.

What Is Marketing Research?

Businesses of all sizes are constantly seeking information about their customers, their competitors and the market environment in which they operate. Marketing research is basically the gathering of this data. However, all "gathering of information" does not qualify as marketing research. The American Marketing Association defines marketing research as the "systematic and objective approach to gathering marketing information which - when processed, analyzed and interpreted - will help identify problems and opportunities that allow for better-informed, lower-risk decisions." The key to this definition is that the information is gathered, processed, analyzed and interpreted in a systematic and objective fashion. Marketing research stresses how the information is obtained and evaluated as much as what is actually gathered.

At first thought, it might not seem too difficult to obtain marketing information. For example, the owner of a video store might ask some customers whether they would rent more movies if the price were reduced by one dollar. Using this feedback, the owner might decide to reduce the price, thereby increasing the number of rentals and, overall, making more money. Unfortunately, the people queried may not be typical of all customers. Even if the owner were lucky enough to talk to a representative sample, how does s/he know that the customers are telling the truth or that they will, in fact, rent more movies? This instance of collecting marketing information lacks the objectivity and uniformity necessary to be classified as marketing research. The owner in this case may actually lose money by acting upon it.

Kurt Mortensen’s trademark is Magnetic Persuasion; rather than convincing others, he teaches that you should attract them, just like a magnet attracts metal filings. He teaches that sales have changed and the consumer has become exponentially more skeptical and cynical within the last five years. Most persuaders are using only 2 or 3 persuasion techniques when there are actually 120 available! His message and program has helped thousands and will help you achieve unprecedented success in both your business and personal life.

Internet Marketing and Advertising

Internet marketing is an expression used for advertising a product or service over the Internet. The method includes pay-per-click advertising, banner ads, e-mail marketing, search engine marketing, blog and article marketing. The method includes information management, public relations, customer service, and sales. Internet marketing works on two basic models, business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C). B2B is a method where companies do business with each other, while B2C involves selling directly to the consumer.

Another not so common business model is the people-to-people (P2P), where individuals exchange goods between themselves. Internet marketing has had a large impact on various industries such as music, banking, and flea markets. Much of the music industry has posted large sales from downloading MP3s and also by buying music CDs on the Internet. Internet marketing has also made a huge impact on the banking industry by offering online banking facilities. Other Internet-related activities, like auctions, have gained popularity and helped many small-time sellers showcase their products for consumers; an excellent example of one such Website is eBay.

Online advertising involves search engines and links. Search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN rely on the links in formulating the ranks which are made visible on their Webpage. Advertising on the Internet can help create strategic, interactive communication that helps establish a strong consumer relationship with brands. Some of the expressions used in the Internet field are hits, which count the number of files downloaded, page impressions or page views, which are the number of times a page or a banner ad is displayed, CPM, which is cost per thousand impressions or page views, and banner advertisements. Some of the others are click rate, which is the percentage of visitors who click on a banner ad, and click through, which is the number of people who click on a banner ad and get to the advertiser's Web site.

Bus Wrapping is an Effective Advertising and Marketing Method

In the marketing, sales and advertising industry, it’s a well-known fact that every advertising dollar counts. We will always need to maximize every impression we get from our advertising – the more people see it and remember it, the more effective the advertising campaign will be. Bus wrapping service has been around for a long time but was previously so restrictive and expensive that only big names could afford it. If you’re unsure what bus wraps are, they are large printed advertisings that you see on your regular buses or a charter bus, etc.

The most wonderful thing about bus wrapping services is that bus wrapping is like a moving advertisement – a sharp-shooter who is moving from place to place hitting targets all over the place. Yes, hypothetically speaking, that is the way bus wrapping works. Because when you take on a bus wrapping service, you’re essentially sending your advertisement or message out to everyone on the street and here’s the thing…

…most of the time, they have no other choice but look. Why? Because it’s right there in front of them! The difference between a billboard and a bus wrapping is that with a bus wrap, the advertisement is usually located at the right level – which is eye level. A bus wrap is, therefore, very easy to see instead of something like a billboard because you’d have to raise your eyes upward in order to SEE the advertisement.

Rewind a few decades back, bus wrapping service was really expensive and only large International companies could afford this type of advertising method – but with technology, we can individually produce bus wrapping services for just about the same price! That is PRECISELY why more and more people are choosing bus wrapping as one of their main marketing and advertising methods. It makes perfect sense…to the marketing plan and to the budget.

Leverage Your Marketing Dollars With Advertising Balloons

Gaining the attention of prospects and turning them into customers is an ongoing challenge. With so many brands competing in so many marketing channels, it's easy for your message or product to get lost in the noise. Small or local companies with marketing budget constraints face an even greater challenge when competing with the seemingly unlimited budgets of national or multinational companies. The key to attracting customers is to leverage your advertising budget to garner the most attention for the least amount of money.

Advertising balloons and advertising blimps can help generate the interest of prospective customers and draw greater traffic to your location, whether it's a booth at a trade show or a retail outlet. In an outdoor setting, advertising blimps and advertising balloons inevitably draw the attention of passersby. Visible by car or on foot, advertising blimps and advertising balloons present a cost-effective marketing strategy that will create traffic, generate sales, and increase profits.

There are a number of types of advertising balloons that you can use to leverage your marketing dollars in order to maximize your profits:

Cold Air Inflatables - Up to 25 feet tall, cold air inflatable advertising balloons can be purchased or rented. You can attach your business signage to standard cold air inflatable advertising balloons, or you can have custom balloons made with your logo or slogan. Once the flat balloon is tethered, you simply have to attach a fan in order to have the large balloon come to life. Cold Air Inflatables are great for parking lots, parks, or other large outdoor spaces.

Helium Advertising Blimps - Helium inflatables are blimps that range from seven feet long to 30 feet long. These advertising blimps can be tethered to the ground or to the roof of your building for additional height. True attention-grabbers, helium blimps can be custom made with your company name or logo.

Large Balloons with Helium - You can utilize large helium balloons - which can be custom made in any shape or with any message - inside your retail space, at trade shows, at street fairs, or at strategic places in a parking lot or in front of the store.

Parade Balloons - Every community has a number of parades during the year. Small businesses can make a huge impact with large balloons specifically made for parades. Custom advertising parade balloons can embody any theme or message, and are a great way to convey your message to the community.

When you think about all of the times an advertising balloon or advertising blimp has cause you to turn your head or look skyward, you understand the power of this inexpensive marketing tool.

Prove It! - Give Your Marketing and Advertising More Credibility

Your marketing and advertising won't be effective if your potential customers don't believe the claims you make. So how can you prove your that you can do what you say you can?

Tone it down. Even if it is possible, your claim that dieters can lose 50 pounds in a month probably won't be believed. Make it more realistic and representative of typical results.

Get customer testimonials. Let them see that others have had great results. Testimonials should be specific and include the customer's real name for the most credibility.

Get endorsements from experts. Respected authorities who say that your product or service is good make you look good.

Positive media coverage will make you a star. Media coverage provides an implied endorsement from a respected source.

Show a track record. Have you been in business for 20 years? Customers are more comfortable doing business with someone they believe will be around if there is a problem after the sale.

Make yourself accessible. Give a phone number or e-mail address where customers can contact you (or support staff) directly with questions. Phone numbers are especially valuable in creating the awareness that you are approachable by clients. Add live chat at your web site to resolve support issues.

Cite statistics from a reputable source to back up your claims. There is a joke that 67.8% of all statistics are made up on the spot. When you use statistics, tell where they came from.

And, never make claims that aren't true. If you are caught in a lie, it can be difficult or impossible to reclaim the trust of your customers.

Pay Per Click Marketing

Pay per click marketing is a two edged sword, and a very sharp one at that! If you get it right, pay per click marketing can be your key to online success the likes of which you have only dreamed. Get it wrong, and you can quickly find yourself out of business and in the poor house. There are several things to consider when preparing a pay per click marketing campaign that will help ensure that you are a shining example of the successful pay per click marketer.

The first thing to consider when setting out to start a pay per click marketing campaign is the keywords you will be targeting. Unless you are Wal-Mart or Amazon or some similar large business, you must pay careful attention to the cost per click for each of your keywords. Make absolutely sure that you don't get carried away with your bidding just to end up at the top of the listings for any particular keyword. Know how much you are willing to spend before you even start and set your pay per click marketing bids accordingly.

Another thing to consider when setting up a pay per click marketing campaign is your advertising copy. Unlike traditional advertising, pay per click advertising IS NOT designed to make sales. It is designed to attract clicks. In my mind, this is the single most important lesson to learn when considering pay per click marketing. In order to attract clicks, you must put yourself in the place of the search engine user and understand how they are using the search engine and what they are looking for. The closer your pay per click advertisement headline is to the keywords the searcher enters, the more likely your advertisement will draw a click.

A final thing to consider when setting up your pay per click marketing campaign is that you DO NOT have to be number one in the listings to have a successful campaign. In fact, you do not have to even be in the top three. Realizing this fact will save you more money than you can imagine. People who are drawn to click on the top three pay per click listings generally are not taking the time to carefully consider what they are clicking on. As a result, these people are not as likely to purchase as another searcher who takes the time to figure out if the ad they are clicking really matches up with what they are looking for. It has been my experience that positions 4 through 6 have been the most profitable positions in my pay per click marketing.

Pay per click marketing can be a VERY effective tool in your advertising efforts IF you take the time to learn and understand the medium. Not doing the due diligence required will almost certainly end in disaster. If you are considering the use of pay per click marketing, then do yourself a favor and make the effort to understand how to utilize pay per click marketing effectively.

Increase Sales and Emotion With a Professional Voice Over Talent

Most TV commercials you see, radio commercials you hear, training films, and more use the voice of a professional announcer. In the media industry, these much sought after voice pros are called Voice Over Talent.

A fine voice over talent can give you a warm, friendly read that not only entices prospects to take an interest in you, but effectively urges them to buy. A good voice can accentuate just the right words, stress the right phrases, and literally create an emotion in the listener.

In the past, many producers both large and small avoided working with top voice over talents because (1) they were hard to contact, (2) took weeks to finish the job, and (3) were very expensive.

The usual method was to contact an advertising or talent agency who set up a session with the voice over talent. Not only could this take days, weeks, or even months for some top talents -- the fee could range from several hundred to thousands of dollars and more.

Today the old system in still in place, but other top voice over artists are making the experience MUCH easier, quicker, and affordable. As a busy voice over talent, I offer voice services from my web site and often have the client's job finished in as little as one hour. Fees are low enough for even the solo web site owner to afford a professional voice for their site's greeting or flash presentation.

Here are a few things to look for in a voice over talent:

(1) The voice should be friendly and personable. A warm, friendly voice immediately creates a warm feeling for most people. That warm feeling can quickly translate into sales, sign-ups, and higher customer satisfaction.

(2) You don't need a "voice of god." That's the term a lot of people in the media industry use for those super deep voiced announcers you hear at the movies and sometimes on the radio. Studies show customers and prospects are more likely to connect with a voice that sounds more like a regular person.

(3) But unlike an everyday person, professional voices know how to accentuate a word, stress a phrase, and create a mental image for the listener. This ability is probably the number one thing you should look for. Listen closely how the talent reads a script. Is the reading flat or are they bringing the script to life?

(4) Don't blow your budget on an overly expensive voice over talent. Getting the agency's top voice may be impressive to your friends, but saving the money and using a high quality but affordable voice over artist will give you as good or better results. You can use the money you save to enhance other aspects of your project, giving you a better shot at success.

Finally, keep in mind most people act on their feelings, not necessarily their logic. Nothing stimulates emotions like a good voice. Using a professional voice over talent makes a lot of sense.

The Advertising Industry's Biggest Little Secret!

Marketers in the advertising industry are continually searching for cutting edge ways to reach niche markets and attract more and more customers to increase sales. They look for unique ways to market themselves; ways that will not only distinguish themselves from their competition, but will also leverage themselves into unknown marketable territories. Millions of dollars a year are spent on radio ads, TV infomercials, print ads and so forth. The avenues are similar and unchanging. Although they have proven to reach the masses, wouldn’t it be nice to find an untapped marketing tool that will reach potential buyers? A product that is completely underdeveloped and has the potential to change the face of advertising? Introducing the industry’s BIGGEST , little secret:

WINDOW ADVERTISING

When a company is hiring staff (especially sales persons), they spend a lot of valuable time and money choosing the appropriate people to represent the image of their business. They look for a face that will justifiably represent their integrity and motivation. However, an area that they fail to focus on is their storefront. It is what drive by traffic sees as the face of their business, and currently most storefronts lack enthusiasm and character. They are silent billboards. A consumer needs to go inside to get the feel of the establishment. Professionally hand painted window ads meet these needs and go beyond creating enticement. They offer a visual experience of excitement, curiosity and upfront no nonsense messages as to what the company has to offer its customers. Window ads bring silent billboards to life!

Window painting is a specific form of sign advertising done on a client’s windows. Its potential to draw desperately needed attention to retail outlets is incomparable to any other form of marketing. As discussed most retailers spend the majority of their marketing dollars on advertising avenues such as radio, TV, and print adds. Although their importance in generating traffic is undeniable, there is a financial sacrifice to be made and it is high. As an example a half page black and white ad in a local newspaper may run around $1000. If you were to add color, plan on adding an additional $500. The distribution is one time. How many of those people will actually take the time to read the ad, remember the ad, and act on the ad?

For a mere fraction of the price, window advertisements work 24 hours a day, every day for the duration of the ad. It provides direct attention not only to the storefront, but also up front, no nonsense information about in store promotions. All information is readily available to the potential customers right in front of their store.

Due to the demand of the well-informed consumer, the retailer has to offer far more than good deals. They must offer an experience, a felt experience. The Art of Search Engine Optimization-Creating an Internet Marketing Masterpiece

Is search engine optimization an art form? I think that in the final analysis of what we do to achieve top ratings on Google for a website url that it certainly would be. Looking closer at the details of this work, we discover a pattern of thinking and ideas that mold itself into the final product of a top position on a keyword phrase of our choosing. The process of taking a website and adding all the necessary elements that the search engine spiders are seeking is a never ending process. One never reaches the point where they say it is done. The internet is a constantly flowing entity. It changes from second to second and as people are striving for cherished positions, they must be in that flowing mode as well. The act that search engine optimization specialist follow is called testing. The testing process never reaches a point where it is no longer needed.

In order to have an effective website there are rudimentary elements that must work together. The bottom line is that Google is looking to put the websites with the best and most original content in the top slots. It would appear that the people that are able to snap in to this mode of thought are the ones that come away with the internet marketing prize.

Too many people simply are not focused enough on the journey and are concerned with the final objectives of making money. While money is an issue and probably always will be, it should not be the entire focus of the thought process. We must think of the journey. We must consider our objectives carefully in molding the perfect SEO campaign and then pursue that objective daily. Most seem to think that internet marketing must be really simple. I disagree. I think that it deserves attention to the minutest of details and the process of looking past so called failures that will ultimately lead to the desired result of success.

In the beginning stages of the successful SEO campaign we must do constant keyword research. This is not the simple task that one might think. It requires intensive visualization of what is required, then the act of using the tools and systems to find pertinent information to place that website url into a high traffic area for maximum results. This is not an instantaneous process. There is no piece of automated software that will do this work for you. It must be done consistently and daily to achieve the maximum results of top search engine placement positions.

You might think that in order for this to be accomplished you will need to be a geek or guru, but in fact average people when given the proper tools and systems can do very well at this. Though many self-professed internet marketing gurus might lead people to think that they are the only ones with this magical ability, it is not the truth.

Basically a person needs very little technical knowledge to accomplish the goal of top positioning on search engines. If you can write, then you can become successful on the internet. There is one other basic idea some seem not to be aware of. Successful search engine placement of a website is not an area that can be effectively bought. As a matter of fact marketing successfully on the internet requires very little money. Even though the internet marketing legends may tell you that their thousands of dollars program is needed, it is not. You have wonderful tools and systems available to you for absolutely no charge that work like magic in the area of nailing a top spot on Google. The simple fact is that most people are simply too lazy to use these organic positioning tools.

In this day and time of automation and quick results, I think that we overlook the work ethics that have made this country the best in the world to live and work in. The keyword here for today is work! There is no substitute for it on the net or in real life. You can have the most expensive set of tools on the planet, but unless you actually unpack those tools from the tool box and begin to use them, you will not be able to fix anything at all. This parody goes right with the internet. You can sign for all kinds of programs, probably programs that you don't even know that you have stored on your pc, but unless you fully utilize those programs they will not work.

Earn Real Money On The Internet Through Google Adsense

A lot of people are doubted about income on internet. I was doubted too until I got my first Google Adsense Check of $100. While CPC/PPC (Cost-per-click/Pay-per-click) is at its best, everyone should make the most of this opportunity. There are a lot of ways money can be earned on internet. From my experience, money can be earned in following ways:

* Selling product and services
* CPC/PPC
* Affiliates

Selling Products and services: If you are skilled enough and you make products or provide specialized services, you can sell them on internet and make a lot of money. For example, if you are a lawyer or you provide law services of any kind, you can sell them and earn thousands over internet. Affiliates: You can make a regular website and put other company product banners on your webpages. You will be given a particular URL to put on those banners. Visitors when click those banners, they get redirected to the banner website. You get paid either for clicks or if they purchase the product, you get paid a commission. You may signup for affiliation with clickbank.com, commissionjunction.com, etc.

CPC/PPC: This is HOT topic these days. You can earn a LOT of money from various programs like Google Adsense, Bidvertiser, Clicksor, Adbrite, Chitika, etc. All these companies have been tested and they DO pay. Most of these companies offer two types of services: For advertisers and for publishers. If you want to advertise your product, you can signup for an advertising account with top companies like google, bidvertiser, adbrite, clicksor, etc.

CPC/PPC is the easiest and google adsense is best for CPC. Google pays the most out of all CPC/PPC programs. I started with google adsense in November 2005. I learned a lot of tools through out the process, however, there are several sources on internet where you can get google adsense ready websites. All you have to do is purchase hosting space and upload your adsense ready pages. I continuously made little money until mid of 2006. I got a lot of help from www.AdsenseSecretsExposed.com I learned the tips and tricks to organize ads in my webpages to earn maximum revenue. Google also provide advertising of your pages and the cost of advertising starts as low as 1 cent per click. While you use adsense codes on your pages, it is very important to review terms and conditions of Google adsense program. Its a competitive world, sooner you start, sooner you will start earning. I earn anywhere from $1,000 to $1,500 every month through adsense. I'm running 2 websites at the moment which have around 30 pages and planning to work on more websites. If you can make thousands of pages, imagine how much money can you make. Hope this information opens up some doors for you. Happy monetizing your website.

The Top 5 Ways to Double the Response or More of Your Advertising

Before I go into the top 5 ways in which to double the response of your advertising, I need to tell you something. But before I tell you this one thing that will change the way you view advertising forever and put you ahead of 95% of the businesses out there, you must promise me you will have an open mind.

Promise?

Ok. The one thing I have to tell you, that is the basis of all advertising and what you must keep on your mind everytime you do your advertising is that:

Advertising is Salesmanship Multiplied

Have you read that before? If not, that’s okay...not many businesses know this. If they knew this, then there wouldn’t be so much trash on TV, in the newspapers, on billboards, in magazines and on the radio.

To understand the concept, imagine that each one of those people reading the newspaper (there could be thousands if not millions) are glancing at your ad. Salesmanship multiplied means having a lot of salespeople promoting your product or service to each one of those people...

with the same words, the same voice and all at the same time.

Why is this one idea so important? 2 reasons:

1) Advertising is leverage. Say you are putting an ad in a newspaper. That one square with your product or service that cost a few hundred dollars is going out to thousands of people. If that advertising works, then you will have a flood of business.

And if it doesn’t work, then you are out a few hundred. Look at your risk reward ratio: downside is several hundred. Upside is unlimited. It’s worth it to try it a couple of times to satisfy yourself that you are not losing out on all that upside potential.

2) You are paying for it. It’s your blood, sweat and tears that is paying for that ad. Wouldn’t you want every last penny from it? Wouldn’t you want it to justify itself, prove itself to you?

Can you see now why everything follows from thinking about your ads as salesmanship multiplied?

Now that you are thinking along the same direction I am, it will be a lot clearer why the top 5 ways to double your response are true.

There are hundreds of things you can change with every ad you put out. Some are words, size of the ad, colors, and so on. Too many in fact. What if I told you that the bulk of the response rate came from only optimizing 5 of those things, not several hundred?

And by optimizing, I mean either adding it in, or changing it every once in a while to see if it changes response. Here goes:

1) The first and most important aspect of marketing any product or service is the market you are aiming for. This can only be found by figuring out a typical profile of someone that is likely to buy or has bought your product or service.

The same ad in different markets may go from no response to thousands of responses. I did that with a client I was working with. We tried an ad in a bulletin and got only one response. We put the SAME ad in a sign and got over $36,000 worth of business within a couple of weeks.

2) The second most important aspect is the headline of the ad. Think about how you read the newspaper. Studies show that people just scan the headlines for the articles they are interested in reading (which their brains pick out in a split second). The same goes for your ad.

It is absolutely imperative that you have a headline!

And it cannot be just your company name, or some other self serving phrase. It has to be something that appeals to the reader.

Try a couple of different headlines. And try to put the word “You” in the headline. Studies show that the word “You” is the most compelling word in a headline. I would say it’s the second most compelling word. The first, in my opinion and experience is the reader’s name.

3) Your offer is the third most powerful thing to tinker with after the top two. The top two are just to get you noticed and getting noticed is over half the battle. Once they are reading your ad, you had better have a compelling offer.

Here’s a formula for a compelling offer that may be worth over $50,000 to you:

a) Something people want: You cannot sell something to someone if they aren’t interested.
b) Risk free: Take the risk away from the buyer for once. Let them feel safe purchasing your product or service. Use a guarantee.
c) Attractive price: This is of course important and is the topic of item 4 below.
d) Benefits to the person: What does your product do for them?
e) Credibility factor: You need to be believed. Establishing believability is one of the biggest challenges in today’s consumer society. But that’s the topic of another article.

So to recap the formula:

Something people want + Risk free + Attractive price + Benefits + Credibility = Irresistible Offer

4) Price: Most people think price is the biggest factor with any product or service. In fact, most of the time it is not. It can be a deciding factor with comparable products, but is not the whole story.

For example: if you needed brain surgery, and every doctor was charging $37,000 and you came across one guy that will do a “2 for 1” deal for $48.50, what would you think?

Test prices! Don’t just set them arbitrarily. Try higher and lower prices...I have seen both multiply results!

5) Tell them what to do (AKA the so called “call to action”): Most people with busy lives, running two jobs, juggling the kids, worrying about their debt aren’t going to sit there and try to figure out how to buy your product. If you don’t tell them EXACTLY how to get what they desire, then you will lost a lot of money.

Bonus 6) Yes, I put this one in because it is important. It’s testing. Testing is not part of an ad, it is more like what you need to do with your ads to find out if they are optimized (bringing you the highest return on investment they can).

Most newspapers, magazines and even now the Internet (Google Ads) have the ability to “A/B split test” or run the same ad with one variable changed...this is a good way to test headlines.

You must do this for every ad you run. Why? Well, just to give you an example: A Google ad I was running was split with just the order of the second line and the third line changed. If you know Google Ads, they have three lines, like a classified ad. So I switched line two and three. No other change was made.

The result? One ad had a 4.7% click through and the other had a 0.5% click through rate. That’s an over 800% difference. Imagine what that difference would do to your bottom line.

In the end, ad writing to sell a product or service is all about resonating with your prospect’s desires. Fall in love with your client and your market, understand the way they speak, buy, and believe and you will never have a problem selling your product or service...through advertising or otherwise.

P.S. Put this article in a place where you can look at often, so you can make sure you are looking at the top 5 critical elements to make sure you are getting the most response out of any ad you are running (and to give it a fair chance to prove itself before you scrap it entirely).

Stay tuned for my next article, where I show you how to figure out which type of ad is best for your product or service.

Advertising Strategies: Which One Is Right For Your Business?

Most business owners assume that advertising is used to influence a customer to purchase a particular brand. However, brand advertising is only one approach that needs to be considered when deciding which marketing strategy is right for your business.

If your aim is to heighten awareness of a particular brand amongst your customer base, then brand advertising is probably for you. Your advertisement should support your goal of attracting customers from a rival supplier, so as to either increase your market share, or arrest any decline in sales. Ask yourself: what can I do in this ad to stimulate selective demand? That is, demand for my product, rather than my competitors’? If you want to improve your "piece of the pie", then brand advertising is probably for you.

Product advertising, on the other hand, is designed to stimulate demand for a general product category. Because the aim is to increase the size of the industry as a whole, this strategy is usually adopted during the early stages of the product life cycle. For instance, a supplier of Goji berries might highlight the health benefits of the berry, rather than the superiority of one brand over another. This is because interest in the product is relatively new, requiring substantial consumer education in order to increase general demand.

Increasingly, corporate advertising is gaining momentum as a way for companies of any size to heighten awareness of their corporate name, as well as their brands. Typically, this strategy is seen as the domain of large, publicly-listed companies, however any established business interested in long-term positive public perception might consider such a campaign. A good example is the ongoing campaign to "eat more red meat", which presents a clear point of view in order to counteract negative sentiment. Such campaigns can work to improve public opinion, encourage customers to patronise the firm, or to help cement a corporate identity. If you have an established business with several products and/or services, or operate in a controversial industry, corporate advertising is worth considering.

Finally, co-operative advertising can be a creative solution when budgets are tight. Traditionally, manufacturers have paired up with retailers to split the cost of advertising the manufacturer’s product (along with those of other manufacturers in the same campaign.) Supermarkets and department stores have for years derived most of their advertising budgets from manufacturer contributions in this way. However, any company with complementary business relationships might consider such an approach. What about a restaurant and a winemaker? A website developer and a graphic artist? A storage facility and a moving van? If your company enjoys close business relationships, then this approach could substantially reduce your overall spend, whilst increasing your overall reach.

In summary, it’s vital to determine your advertising strategy well before you consider issues such as media selection, budgets or content. Firstly, ask yourself: What am I trying to achieve in terms of market share? How mature is the industry in which I operate? Am I looking for long-term or short-term gains? And, is there a way in which I can share the cost of advertising, whilst still achieving my objectives? A well-researched strategy is the framework on which any successful advertising campaign is built.

Poster Accessories Give A Different Feel To Your Poster

We all know that posters are a great way of communicating message to large masses. So if you want to reach out to a wider audience, what you need to do is put up posters of all shapes and sizes with the message that you wish to pass on to them. Being different is one thing that appeals to everyone these days, so you must ensure that your poster is not like the other one that is put up across the road. Making use of poster accessories is ideal means for you to give your poster a different look and feel.

It will not help you in the long run if proper planning methods are not used and implemented for making the poster and putting it up at the proper places. You will need to make use of different types of poster accessories to make your poster as appealing as possible. If you are running a business, you may want to put up posters announcing about the arrival of your new stock or simply tell your customers any new discount offer that you may have for them. You will have to tell your customers about all this; otherwise how you expect them to know about the latest that is available for them.

Poster accessories like hanger, colors and several other add-ons can be made use of to give your poster the kind of look and feel that you desire to have. Taking some time off your busy schedule to find out poster accessories to put in your poster may not be possible for you. In such a scenario, the internet comes to your rescue. You can search the web and find out the different types of accessories which you can use for making your poster more attractive and eye catching.

Designing a customized poster to get across your message is not a difficult thing for anyone to do. Each business and cause needs to be said in a different way and consequently your poster needs to be different. There are several sources from where you can get your custom banner made and designed. You just have to tell them what all things you have in mind for putting on the poster. If you have something specific in mind, you can tell them to put it or you can put something that they may suggest to you. The bottom line is to make your poster very attractive and catchy to your intended targeted audience.

Posters that have been put up attractively with the proper poster accessories have the capacity to attract and appeal to a wide group of audience. So if you want to clear up stuff from your house, you can put up a garage sale for the same. Make a very attractive poster, preferably in bright colors. Since this is not a formal do, but rather a casual affair you can use funky fonts to write out your information on the banner. Poster accessories help in making your poster more appealing and they can be put up at proper places by using the accessories.

Phonewords - 13, 1300 And 1800 Numbers As Marketing Tools

In the Concise Oxford Dictionary, image is described as "the character or reputation of a person or thing as generally perceived". A first impression based on non-verbal communication goes a long way in influencing this perception. Within seconds of meeting you, based on a single observed physical trait or behavior, people will assume to know everything about you (as is explained in the 2003 book Social Psychology by H. Andrew Michener, John D. Delamater, and Daniel J. Myers). Furthermore, according to research by Dr. Albert Mehrabian of UCLA, appearance and body language (visual image) accounts for fifty-five percent of an invaluable first impression.

In short your visual presentation has consequences.

Phonewords can change your business number into an instantly recognized business tool. This makes the lettering system more efficient and easier to remember than a number based system. For example, 1300 DOCTOR is much easier to remember than 1300 362 867. 1300 DOCTOR is a phoneword. Your message becomes sharper, more focused, less cluttered and clearly more memorable.

Since light travels faster than sound or we can think, you are seen before you are heard therefore words are easier to remember than numbers. This is why, before even uttering a word your visual image will say a multitude about you as an individual (your perceived level of intelligence, competence, affability, self-esteem, confidence, power, beliefs and success) and about the organization you represent (its philosophy, culture, and standard of service).

The work world demands making a great first impression and keeping it. To communicate more intuitively day-to-day, start by understanding appearance psychology and non-verbal communication techniques. Doing so can lead to greater professional and personal success. By using phonewords within your business, you can increase your advertising effectiveness by 300% and boost your overall business sales by 30% to 200%.

Here are some of the benefits can be achieved for your business.

1. ADDITIONAL SALES AVENUE - One of the most important benefits of a good toll free phonewords is that it gives you an additional channel to reach more customers and close more sales.

2. IMPROVING CUSTOMER FEEDBACK - One of the most important and often over looked aspects of building a successful business is getting feedback and staying in touch with your clients, prospects, visitors etc. Knowing where visitors or prospects have questions, needs or problems is crucial to keep your business on the right track and growing.

3. BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE - Toll free numbers not only improve customer service but create a strong customer service image and focus and allow for hand holding when unsure customers can talk to a live person.

4. REPEAT AND SECOND HAND MARKETING - A good toll free number is one of the few things you can do to increase word-of-mouth and customer referral marketing as well as repeat customers by making it easier for customers to remember how to reach you or to tell someone else how to reach you.

5. BETTER DOMAIN NAME AVAILABILITY - YourName.com is usually not available. But 1800YourName.com usually is! This also has an added benefit of putting you ahead of even the A's in the alphabetic directory listed_numberings.

6. STRONGER PRESENCE - A good toll free number makes you look larger and more established and creates an image of a good more significant brick and mortar business, which has proven to be a real advantage in online marketing.

7. CUSTOMER FOCUSED IMAGE - Toll free numbers create a professional customer focused image. They show a companies desire to hear from consumers and make it easy for consumers to call and make the company seem more local no matter where they're based.

8. INSTANT BRAND NAME - Just like a good domain name, a good phonewords creates an almost instantly prestigious brand name.

9. CREDIBILITY & PRESTIGE - A good toll free number gives even the smallest start up, an air of credibility and authority. Consumers also trust companies more when they are more accessible. They feel more comfortable knowing they can pick up the phone and talk to someone real.

10. INCREASED RESPONSE RATES - The most tangible and measurable benefit of a great phonewords is an increased response rate to all advertising. If you don't do much advertising it won't make much difference, but if you do any significant amount of advertising a good number can easily increase your response rate by typically 12 to 42 percent and sometimes more. And one third of your advertising can certainly be a lot of money.

Independent Professionals: What Paradigm Are You Weaving?

So we've heard the well-worn statistic that we're exposed to around 3000 advertising messages per day (personally I think it's A LOT more). Ever consider what each of these messages is really asking you to consider?

I just opened up the web browser on one of my PC's. Straight away I'm faced with an ad from Virgin Credit Cards "Things get more exciting when you say yes!" presumably that means saying 'yes' to debt - in this case it's by clicking on the word 'yes' which opens a musical jewellery-box. A ballerina proceeds to leap out from her fixed spinning and start gyrating like a mental raver! Is this what Virgin mean by things getting more exciting??..Must be.

The animation ends with a billboard announcing "The Virgin Credit Card, Say Yes." Plastered underneath is the virgin logo with the word "Money" next to it.

We're faced with thousands of such notifications daily, each one is asking us to consider something from a specific frame. Each one is asking us to consider what the advertiser would have us believe and value about their service. Each and every one is offering changes.

I've found it very useful to see every ad as its own unique little paradigm. A reality that entices us to consider beliefs, values and changes that can frequently be out of alignment with our personal standards. Sometimes these paradigms are so far removed from the truth of the product or service too. Take McDonalds. What would the ads have us consider about the product? What paradigm does would McDonalds present to us? That happy clowns will entertain our kids? That the social interaction found in the restaurant will enrich our lives? That we'll laugh more? Look more healthy and vital? I mean jeeeez!!

And don't get me onto the cosmetics firms!! What would they have us believe? What would they have us value? What changes do they offer?

So getting back to the ballerina - if I don't click 'yes' I don't value excitement???...hmmmm

The first process I get any of my clients to do. Individuals on my workshops FIRST weave the paradigm from which to launch all subsequent marketing communication.

I urge you to go back and take a look at your advertising with these questions in mind:

What beliefs is my offer asking someone to consider?

What values is my offer asking someone to consider?

What changes am I offering?

If you're an Independent Professional, these 3 questions, answered mindfully will begin to create a paradigm for your service. How enticing your service is - how attractive it is to prospects, can depend very much on how thoroughly you answer these three simple questions.

You should have an intimate understanding of the paradigm you weave. The Paradigm you entice people with rather than allowing your ads to be driven solely by targeting, technique and smart-arse-tactic. Your paradigm provides the foundation for your strategic launch-pad and allows you to be more precise about the tactics you choose to execute your campaigns...

Overcoming Printing Jargon to Get a Quality Business Card

In this article we try to cut through some of the printing red tape and try to provide you with a better understanding of the jargon and the pitfalls, ensuring your expectations are more closely matched to the end product you will be receiving. The following points should be of help,

If you want a close colour match between colours on the designs you see on the computer monitor and the printed cards speak to the printer. Depending on the type of monitor you use and the colours involved, there could be a huge difference between how the colour looks on the monitor (RGB MODE) and how the printed colour (CMYK MODE) looks when printed from the printer or when printed using you home of office printer. Also the type of paper used affects how the printed colours look. If you want very close matches the best way to proceed is to send a paper copy of the card with colours on it to the printer. The printer can then try to find the closest matching CMYK colour. If the printer can’t find an appropriate CMYK colour code, he may recommend using another printing set of colours called Pantone (Spot) colours. Pantone colour printing is normally more expensive than CMYK colour printing, but the accuracy to colour match is also better.

The most common misunderstanding and pitfall between a customer and a company offering printed services, is when a customer requires his card details or logo to have beautiful and bright colours which they see on the monitor, yet the same colours look a lot duller on the printed business cards they receive.

Why does this happen? Quite simply it is the physics of the situation as follows,

Monitor colours (RGB: Red-Green-Blue), the three basic colour elements -which together form a pixel- that every CRT monitor and colour television technology is using to compose all the colours that it is able to display. Basically, the luminosity of each colour element is adjusted to a value from 0 (so dark to be black) to 255 (as bright as the white), and the additive mixture of all three colour values together has the effect of producing a distinct colour, with values ranging within the RGB colour space. Now, how correctly and in accordance to its value is the colour displayed in your screen, has to do mainly with the quality of the monitor- plus other details like monitor colour profile etc.

The colours scheme used for printing (CMYK: Cyan-Magenta-Yellow– Black) are the basic colours which are combined to get the equivalent RGB colours: magenta+ yellow = red, magenta + cyan = blue and cyan + yellow = green.

However, these colours will not be as bright as the RGB colours that can be displayed on the screen. The reason is that CMYK works through light absorption: the colour you see on paper is the result of the visible spectre of light that’s left unabsorbed and reflected back to your eyes. On the contrary, RGB colours on monitor screens are exposing light, with the consequence that colours appear much more vibrant. And thus is the key reason why colours you see on the screen and when printed look different and sometimes substantially so.

Now as mentioned earlier, to get over these problems of physics, if you are concerned about close colour reproduction then speak to your printer.

Dpi (dots per inch) or resolution refers to the sharpness of your design. It does not matter how good the printers are, if your card design is not sharp enough then the printed card will not appear crisp and clear. Ideally for the best result, you are looking at having a design of at least 300dpi when created in actual printing size. As an example, a 300dpi artwork that needs 200% scale in order to print in actual size is not 300dpi but is 150dpi.

Thickness (gsm) of the card is reference to its weight. Ideally to have professional looking business cards the best paper weight to use is between 330 and 360gsm. Again you can use matt paper or gloss paper and use other finishing’s on the printed business card. Again different paper makes the final print appear different. Ask your printer for more advice.

Use lithographic printing or digital printing. The words lithographic or digital are simply references to the quality of the printing machines and the printing processes used to print the cards. Lithographic printing is an older method of printing and gives a very clear and crisp result. Digital printing is a newer method and depending on the quality of digital printers used, the results may vary. The best digital printers produce a printed quality as crisp and clear as the best lithographic printers, and better results than some of the older lithographic printers.

Business Cards Are Ongoing Advertising

Business cards can be an ongoing advertisement of your business. Unlike flyers they will not just be tossed away in the nearest trash can. Most people tend to keep these cards in a safe place to be referred to whenever they are looking for something in particular.

If you look at this little card as being more than just an introduction to your business you will discover that it can carry an important message for you as well. It has two sides and most cards are only printed on one side with the name and contact details of the person concerned. Think about how this side can be utilized to your advantage.

Use it for advertising various aspects of your business. Change the advertising angle every now and again so that it does not become stagnant.

Many professional people use this side to document appointments for their clients. The client then has a reminder with them to keep the appointment and not waste the professional person’s time.

You will have to plan how you will distribute your business cards in your area and then further a field. The more people you can reach the better it will be for business. Start off by choosing a busy spot where you can distribute your cards to passers by. A shopping mall or train station or a car park, are all good places to start. Always be friendly to the passers by so that they will willingly take a card from you.

Make sure that you never leave any public place without leaving a card or a few cards behind. Put them in a conspicuous place so that they will be seen and taken by someone who finds them of interest.

Business Cards - This Is The Way

Business cards can become excellent advertisements for your business if they are distributed to potential customers in the vicinity of your premises. They can be handed out to passersby in the local shopping malls or in the car parks.

Design and print your cards yourself to save expenses. Run a few by your friends and relatives and gauge their reaction. Value their opinions and make the necessary changes. Make use of color and bold font so that they are easy to read and eye catching. Black and white can be boring and may not attract everyone’s attention.

The cards can be made more interesting by pasting magnets on the back. This adds value to them as many people will take them home with them and put them on the fridge. Make use of any way you can think of to make your cards more interesting so that the recipients will keep them and read them.

It is a good idea to print on the backs of the cards to make a change. Advertise your next sale or series of discounts or whatever you want to use to attract more customers. Periodically change this so that the information does not become stagnant.

The success of the cards depends on how many are distributed. Always have them with you when you leave home in the morning. Hand out your cards as far as you go. Always leave a card on a counter where you have been. Someone is bound to find it and get excited about the new venture in town.

How To Take The First Steps With Autoresponders

One of the most effective forms of low-cost Internet marketing is using email to reach a targeted audience. Whilst email marketing has undergone changes over the years, in particular, the outlawing of spam email, it still has great appeal and is one of the most widely-used internet marketing techniques. It's quite simply the best way to keep in touch with your customers on a regular basis on autopilot. Providing you respect the spam laws and use email properly, you will have a trouble free email marketing business.

Email marketing is more commonly associated with the use of an autoresponder service which allows you to import your email messages into the autoresponder and send them out to your customers at a fixed date and time - you could have a series of messages sent over a period of weeks, months or even years, if you wanted. The exciting thing is that once the autoresponder has been set up, that part of your business will run hands free, allowing you to concentrate on other important things.

The costs associated with an autoresponder vary considerably from free up to $100 a month. Try to avoid free autoresponders where possible, although they are free they come at a price! The price being the restrictions on usage and the fact that they will nearly always carry an advert of some sort on your message which can distract your recipient from the real reason why they have received the message. Also, it isn't necessary to pay a silly price for an autoresponder, big companies may want to pay top price because they can afford to but as an individual, you do not need to. Excellent, cost effective autoresponder services can be obtained from aweber.com or getresponse.com. These are web based programs so they will work for you 24/7.

You could of course, use a desktop based autoresponder such as Mailloop. This type of program is a software application that is installed on your computer and it allows you to manage your email campaigns from your desktop. You just have to be aware that you will need to leave your computer running all the time or else you will not be able to receive or send emails automatically. But it's a great way to have a series of autoresponders for a one time payment and no recurring fees.

So, having decided on using autoresponders for your email business, what do you do with one? Well, building up a customer database should be a priority so initially you will want to create a form for your website that allows potential subscribers to insert their details and when they agree to subscribe, they are automatically enrolled onto an email course that you will have loaded into the autoresponder. The course can as long as you want it to be and sent automatically over a period of time - this is where the automation of your email business will come into its own. It is essential that any information that you send to your subscribers is of value and instructive. It's no good sending rubbish, you will lose your subscriber quicker than you got him! Quality email courses that you could use can be found in the Turbomembership.com.

If you offered a 14-day email course on internet marketing for example, then you could provide links to various marketing ebooks or resources. In each email would be a link to a different ebook. Of course each link would have your unique affiliate code. The unique Turbomembership.com affiliate program provides quality marketing ebooks and software scripts that you can re-sell at 95% commission.

This is just one of the many ways that you can use autoresponders in your email marketing business. Finding and using the right autoresponder service, setting up your autoresponder and loading it with quality information is just the tip of the iceburg where marketing is concerned. But it's a good place to start and gain the necessary experience for future marketing projects.

Network Vs. Affiliate Marketing

Running a traditional brick and mortar kind of business with an online presence, is obviously one very good way to make at least part of your living online. But for the purposes of this article we are going to assume that you do not have your own business. So I am going to discuss two of the biggest online money makers right now: online business opportunities and affiliate marketing.

Network marketing

The typical online business opportunity is commonly built around some sort of network marketing concept, inheriting the basic qualities of the offline business model that has been available for many decades - the basic idea being that you recruit two or more people, who in their turn recruit two and in this way your efforts will (at least in theory) be greatly leveraged.

The main difference doing this online is that, utilizing the power of the Internet, you as a network marketer can literally reach people all over the planet.

The problem with the network marketing, or "mlm", concept is that it sounds so good on paper - way too good in fact. Most people who joins up with a company of this type tend to get a dose of Mr. Reality rather soon.

They discover that recruiting new people, which is what all mlm is all about - even if they try to tell you differently - is not at all a simple process. There has been plenty of fraudulent businesses in this niche, and people tend to stay on their toes as soon as they hear the words mlm or network marketing.

To further complicate things this business model is also based on you paying a set monthly fee - wether you make any money or not, which means that many people who start this kind of business actually end up loosing money.

It is definitely possible to make a good living in network marketing, but it is definitely not for everybody. "Getting in on the ground floor" is allegedly not always as good as it seems.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is similar to network marketing, in the sense that you will be promoting a product produced by another company or person. This can obviously make life very simple for you, as the merchant will usually take care of all shipping and customer support issues. Amazon.com is probably one of the most well known (an respected) companies utilizing the power of affiliate partnerships.

As an affiliate, your task is simply to refer new clients to the merchant and when these people go ahead and buy something, you get credited with a certain percentage of the sale.

Contrary to network marketing it is generally free to act as an affiliate marketer. Although there are certain companies that have sort of a hybrid structure between network and affiliate marketing - requiring you to pay a start-up and/or monthly fee to market their products. Most affiliate programs are completely free to join though, so I'd personally stay away from those using their affiliate programs as an income generator in it's own right, or "affiliate sharks" as one marketer aptly named them.

Affiliate programs are thus a great way in which almost anyone can start to make money online, without having to invest a lot of money, if indeed any at all.

There is however certain strategies and marketing methods you need to be knowledgeable of, if you are to make anything but peanuts with your affiliate marketing.

Choosing the right affiliate program and promoting it to the right people in the right way is an art form in it's own right. And the people who are really good at this, generally referred to as "super affiliates", make a very good living doing nothing else than selling other people's products.

If you are looking to make an additional income from the Internet, or eventually even replace your current income altogether, affiliate marketing is a great way to get started. To achieve the success you desire, you should study and learn the same techniques super affiliates use on a day to day basis.

Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimization: Any difference?

For many casual internet users, the terms SEM and SEO rarely enter their minds when they are busy jumping from one website to another. However, it is these terms that determine much of what comes out on the results page whenever we type in a word in the search tab of any accessible search engine. These terms are also responsible for all those advertisements and pop-ups that link us to even more websites, whether they may be connected to our original search or not. So just what are SEM and SEO?

In the simplest way possible, SEM and SEO are tools which website creators, especially those who are promoting and selling a certain service or product, use in order to gain a lot of exposure and better ranking for their website. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, the simplicity ends there.

To make it a tad bit complex, SEM and SEO are not the same. As suggested by the names, SEM, or Search Engine Marketing, deals more with how a website is marketed to gain exposure in the different search engines available on the internet, while SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, deals with how the web creators develop and re-develop the content, quality and structure of their entire websites so that whenever an internet user types in a particular word in the search tab, their websites have a better chance of appearing on the first few search engine results pages (SERPS).

Now, to make it even more complex, although the functions of SEM and SEO seem different, they are more effective when used together. Since the main function of SEM is to gain more exposure for a website, the more common means for attraction are online advertisements, blogs, internet articles, partner and sponsored websites, and anything that can catch the eye of the internet user. SEM also makes use of PPC (pay-per-click) and paid inclusion to further push a website’s visibility. Lastly, it is also an important process in SEM to submit the name and URL of a website to different search engines and web directories if only to inform them of the website’s existence. All this is carried out to ensure the popularity of a website.

So how does SEO come together with SEM? Well, despite having all the advertisements provided by SEM, it is truly the SEO that allows the internet user to easily and conveniently find what he is looking for. Since the function of SEO is to gain a better ranking in the SERPS, the web creator has to constantly optimize his website in order to cater to the needs of the internet user and to make it easier for spiders or web crawlers to judge whether the website’s content is relevant to the word/s being searched. Optimization is not a simple and easy task. It involves having to restructure the website regularly (by editing the html code and meta tags, changing content, reorganizing the site map, developing an easier navigational structure, etc.) so as to adapt to the rapidly changing demands of the internet user. Still, when done properly, not only does SEO help a website become more useful and therefore, more often visited by the internet user, it also helps gain more exposure since it increases the website’s chances of gaining a better rank in the SERPS.

Both SEM and SEO success rely heavily on the words or context which Internet users type in whenever they search for something on the internet. Take PPC under SEM, for example. PPC is an ad that is triggered by a particular word or context used by an internet user. Once a particular word or context is searched, a corresponding PPC ad for a website comes out. SEO works in the same way. The web creator inputs a particular Meta tag (or keyword) in his html that he believes many internet users will use when searching for information, information which the web creator’s website may contain.

Although all of these processes involving SEM and SEO are tedious and time-consuming, it all boils down to knowing and serving the target audience. A web creator must be discerning enough to know what the internet users need and want, and at the same time he must have the real passion to inform and provide the internet users with the right service and product.

How To Get Higher Converting MLM Leads For Less

If you are involved in an mlm or network marketing business then you probably have tried to find the best ways online as well as offline to get qualified people either to your website or to the companies website. There are many different ways to find qualified people who are actually looking right now at starting a home based business.

The thing that you first need to realize is that most people who are looking for a home based business are not actually realizing what it is they are looking for and for the most part are simply getting some answers. These types of people are the non targeted leads that you will find being sold by countless mlm lead companies online.

These types of mlm leads for one have a terrible conversion rate and also end up putting your excited mood into one that makes you start second guessing yourself and possibly the opportunity you are marketing. What is needs to not only help you build a successful mlm business as well as the right mindset to succeed is actual quality mlm leads from an actually mlm leads company with proven results.

If you were looking to compare mlm lead companies odds are you would start possibly with your sponsor or upline in the business you are currently marketing and this method is actually not the best method at all. What will end up happening is your upline simply trying to get a commission or a bonus off of you by sending them to one of the low converting mlm lead companies.

You may take the above statement as being rude or labeling all sponsors but in all honesty most people in mlm and network marketing companies are following the same pack of people barely making any real income. What you need to do is set yourself apart from the pack and become a leader in your company.

If your sponsor in your company and or business is trying his or her best to teach you the correct methods on building your business but has not actually seen any real success themselves then you need to find a new method in which to build your business. Mlm is mainly duplication of a proven method and if your sponsor is not seeing the large monthly income then that is something that I personally would not try and duplicate.

With all the many different ways to get mlm leads which can be done with pay per click accounts and even door to door methods there is one truly proven method that has the highest conversion ratio as long as it is done correctly.

You need to find a mlm lead company that not only has proven results but also offers you a residual income that will actually end up paying for your leads as your downline signs up under you for the leads also. There are only a small handful of mlm lead companies that are even worth comparing and sometimes they can be hard to sift through. Most mlm lead companies are selling leads that have been sold 1,000 times already and will not convert for nothing.

What you should do if you are actually looking to build a solid mlm business is to research and compare mlm lead companies. You need to look for a company that allows you to buy at minimum 72 hour fresh leads. Along with being extremely fresh you also need to find a mlm lead company that actually offers a monthly residual income plan. Having a matrix payout plan attached to a solid mlm lead company can actually end up paying out more then your mlm company is paying you.

Remember also when researching and checking the many mlm lead companies out there that you will most usually get what you pay for. Any company offering you 1,000 fresh leads a day for $20 is nothing but a scam style company and will end up giving you a very bad name in the mlm community. Find a company that has been proven successful and has mlm leads that are actually converting into real mlm sign ups and sales.
